Economical Irani restaurants in Mumbai

Hello Food Lovers. Have you ever tried Irani chai/tea? It is a blend of spices mixed with tea leaves and a hearty splash of whole milk or condensed milk. I always make it a point to include it in my order whenever I visit an Irani restaurant/cafe no matter the time.

Today, I am going to share with you my favorite low-budget Irani restaurants. They not only serve delicious food but have their very own in-house bakery as well. Hope you will give them a try as well.

1. Kyani & Co.

The first time I visited Kyani was way back in 2010. Me and my high school friends went to check out the Prince of Wales Museum (renamed Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya). We were starving on the way back and haven't had much cash so one of my friends suggested this place and It became one of my go-to places ever since. We had bun maska pav and tea, and bhurji and pav and irani omelette. They have a hearty selection of cakes as well. The restaurant has an antic vibe to it and you will feel relaxed and warm to the core. Also, I clearly remember the shock I felt when the bill came and it was less than two hundred. I highly recommend it.

2. Ahura Hotel

I visited Hotel Ahura on my trip to Gujarat. It was night time so we went with a dinner menu of mutton sali kheemo and pav, mutton cutlets and berry pulao, and lagan nu custard. I was pleasantly shocked with the berry pulao as when you bite into the berry the tang and savory flavor spreads into the rice and it's heavenly. I have never tried something like that before. They have some weird yet delicious food on the menu so do give them a visit. You won't be disappointed.

3. Cafe Irani Chaii

This restaurant is in Mahim. Though I have mentioned it last, it is a must-try for all the foodies. They have a loaded menu of mutton kheema, Irani chicken gravy, rolls, and biryanis. Their egg puffs and apple pie are mouth-watering. They are also light on the pocket and have a feel-good vibe.

Don't forget to comment and share your experience if you have already been to these restaurants.
